I was chatting with a friend the other day who’s redoing a room and looking for some inexpensive, beautiful DIY art ideas. She asked me, casually, if I had any ideas, and I morphed into an over-excited, crazed person, like “GOLLY GEE, DO I!!” And then started sending her a bunch of fun ideas I’d seen from some of my blogger friends, to the point where I’m almost certain she instantly regretted asking.
Look: don’t bring up home decorating with me if you don’t want me to get over-eager and hyped-up. I’ve never mastered the art of being cool and chill. (And maybe there’s a tiny part of me that’s still trying to recover from the butt-print disaster?)
Anyway, I thought I’d share some of the ideas I rounded up for her. And then a bunch of other good ones too, in case you have some blank walls that need a little sumthin-sumthin.
(By the way, here’s a great tutorial from Pretty Handy Girl on how to make your own canvas, which you can then paint following any of the above ideas!)
If you’re dealing with some giant embarrassing thing on your wall like Spiderman, this post will give you some good ideas to cover up any superhero murals on your wall. (Also, it’s just one of my favorite posts because come on: SPIDERMAN.)
And hey, if you’re trying to hang some frames straight and even and finding it so frustrating you’re ready to give up on life forever, make sure you check out this life-saving frame-hanging hack. (I still use it, every single time.)
P.S. If you liked this post, make sure you check out this one too! Lots of beautiful feature wall ideas:
