You guys. We need to talk.
It’s just that I’m kind of mad at you. It’s awkward even bringing this up, but I need you to know that you’ve caused me harm.
Last week, we did the “Hey Girl” link party, where you could hey-girl-ify your man and link up your funniest memes. Let me just say that I was really excited about this party because y’all are FUNNY. I mean for real, it’s a regular comedy hour in the comments session here. I just throw up some dumb post and sit back while you guys make me laugh at my computer in the room all by myself.
But I wasn’t sure anyone would link up. In my mind, I was picturing six links. Not kidding: I thought six links would be a win.
But you came, and BOY did you BRING it. I think there was a hilarity-vacuum in the rest of the world as you all piled it on so thick right here. And I went to every single link. Read every single meme.
By about the eighth link, I knew I was in trouble. My cheeks were getting sore from the laughing and I kept having to stop and massage my face.
Then I realized I needed to pace myself. I allowed myself to read about four links at a time, then I had to stop and give my cheeks a rest. I don’t use the term “lol” often, and I never take that acronym in vain, but after last week, my “L” and “O” keys are pretty worn out.
It’s been a week now and I think I have 47 new smile wrinkles and my cheek muscles have been worked out so hard they’re getting ripped like a Jersey Shore Guido. It hurts, you guys. It’s just not cool.
I’m just saying, next time, tone it down a bit.
Now. On to the features! Choosing features is IMPOSSIBLE. I laughed out loud – guffawed – a hundred times. You really need to go read through the links! Sources listed above each photo. Totally check out the links.
Clearly, Ryan Gosling’s got nuthin’ on the men of DIY. If you linked up, please tell your husband that I’ll be using these photos to create, print and distribute a “Husbands of DIY” calendar.
Actually, I heard some wind of “hey guy” retaliation posts, so maybe we should stay on their good sides for while. Keep them happy. Give them what they want: you know, more trips to Michaels, more time to pin their favorite crafts and, of course, more throw pillows.
Thanks so much for linking up, for the huge, repeated, awkward laughs all by myself. Happy Valentines Day!
P.S.: No one likes shutting down a raging party prematurely, so we’re going to leave this party open til Sunday. Link up right here!
Thanks so much for hosting! I think I laughed more than I worked last Thursday!
These are great! Thanks for the links. Although, I won’t lie… very few things are as startling as seeing a “hey girl”-ified picture of my high school boyfriend on one of the blogs I follow. What a funny surprise!
Ack! How aw{kward}esome was that??? Wow.
I really enjoyed these! Especially the one’s about wearing yoga and jammie pants…YUP!
This was one of the best linky parties I’ve ever attended. HI-freaking-LARIOUS. I have also doubled or tripled the laugh lines on my face.
LOVED THIS! thanks for having such a fun par-tay
Hilarious! Thanks for sharing some of the highlights – too funny!
#FunniestBlogPostoftheYear
The end!
Okay….seriously….I should have left a comment long ago. This was the best linky party I have ever seen. I started last week and read and read and laughed and laughed! You are the BEST!
Thanks so much for my new smile wrinkles, too!
Happy Day to you!

ok picture this on the photo of charlie my dog.
“hey girl, thanks for the feature. how about i come over you and lick your face to properly thank you…. right after i finish eating my own poop.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll mouthwash. Also with poop.”
This was the most fun I’ve had on the internet in forever. Thank you.
So funny! This was seriously the best link up party! Loved it!
Thanks for the feature! I think you’re onto something with that calendar idea! 😉
Thanks again for hosting! What a great way to share our Valentines… and our blogs! I have so many to check out. Woo hoo!
Thank you for including me!! And OH. MY. Goodness, us DIY bloggers are FUNNY!! I’m crackin’ up over here! Of course, I have to keep interrupting Mr. Magpie from his work to read them to him. He’s SO thrilled. (Sadly, not.) I mentioned the “Hey Guy” retaliation, but he said he couldn’t think of anything “family friendly” if you know what I mean. Ha ha. SUCH a great party!!! Thanks so much for it, I had a blast.
~Angela~
HAHAHA. Yes, all of the “hey guys” would be the same, and none of them would be family friendly.
YOGA PANTS! Too much…I’m totally bookmarking the party page for when I need a pick me up. Guaranteed laughs over there. The really good ugly laughs when you get all teary and non-sensical. Not that that happened fifty times reading all the links or anything. Thanks again for hosting and for including me.
Seriously…BEST. PARTY. EVER. so many amazing memes out there!!
WOW! Thank you for including me!!! I started my day by finally fitting (I use that word loosely) into pre-pregnancy jeans. Now I find out that you’ve featured me. This will go down in history as a very awesome day!
I loved that party! Everyone was so creative. There sure is a lot of humor out in blogland!
-Shelley
Oh man! All of these were so funny! That was seriously the best party ever!
It was a fabulous party! I’m so digging all my hosts. I’m not sure if I should tell my husband that he made the features! LOL! Maybe I can make him a “Hey Guy” poster. “Hey Guy. Thanks for being such a cutie. You got me a link party feature. God knows it’s been a loooooong time since that’s happened …”
🙂 Linda
Oh, gosh, I had missed some of those. Two of them were rip-snorters! I have to go back and catch up on all the ones that came in after I went through them the first couple of days. Thanks for bringing us so much fun this week!

I should not have read this post with the baby asleep on my chest. Hilarious!
Holly awesomesauce, Batman. And I don’t envy you for having to choose the features, but job well done. My cheeks hurt now, too.

This was absolutely the best linky party EVER! I had so much fun reading all of them. So hilarious! Thanks for the feature!!
You are a link party genius.
I feel like I wussed out on selecting favorites but I just couldn’t do it. They were all so good!
OMG, I never got around to doing my own Hey Girl (may still have to do one), but I LOVED popping into some of the links! I think Amy’s (Buffalo Roam) is still my fave. That Junior slays me. 😉 Thanks for hosting — it was totally a bright spot in my week!
xo Heidi
Hey girl. My whole body hurts from laughing. You need to compile this into a oversize glossy coffee table book. Holy chowder. “Let’s not sleep tonight.”!!!!! Fricking hilarious-est link-up ever.
OMG!!! This was the BEST thing I have seen in blogland in forever!!! I LOVED every single one of these!! And, I think you should ABSOLUTELY make and sell a calendar. I would totally buy one!
xo-Lisa
This was seriously the best link party ever! I definitely needed a good laugh…or 20 😉
OMG I read most of these last year when they were first posted and I never laughed so hard!! They got the same reaction a year later…so frickin. funny. XO
